Donation to Westpac Helicopter Rescue

Last Friday our head students: Gemma, Luke, Sydney and Blake held a mufti day to raise money for the Westpac Helicopter Rescue. They did this because they wanted to help people in need. Today they took the money into the Westpac Helicopter trust where it was greatly received. Here is a photo of the 4 students presenting the money ($657.50) - we are very proud of them all :) Thanks all of the Oakland's students who donated money at the mufti day too.

Our own science experiments

We are currently working on our own scientific investigations. We are following the scientific process and writing up our experiments using the scientific method - the following photos show us completing the research part of our investigations.

Over the past few weeks we have been conducting some science experiments and learning about the scientific process.

Here is one of our experiments: We made some popcorn on the stove and estimated how long it would take to pop.

Homework Challenges

Well done to those students who are well underway with their homework challenges. 

We are well into term 2 now and students who are working on the homework challenges should be hoping to have done 5 or 6 challenges by the end of the term. Remember to fill in a challenge reflection sheet (found on the wall by Miss O's desk) and hand to Miss O.

Inventors and Inventions!

This term our integrated learning is based around inventions. The students will be designing some inventions of their own. If anyone is involved in work/areas that have a component around design or creativity then I would love to hear from you.
